What is Reiki?

This is a very common question we get asked around Naturally Wild! It isn't always the easiest to answer for some reason! So we hope this helps with any questions or concerns you may have!

Reiki is an individual practice of "energy focus." Anyone can learn how to focus this loving energy through their hands in order to bring care to themselves or others. Reiki is gentle yet powerful, subtle yet effective.

What is a Reiki treatment? Reiki balances and works on four levels of existences: 1. Physical: The body and manifested pain 2. Emotional: What your feeling 3. Mental: What you are allowing yourself to think 4. Spiritual: Your capacity to love yourself and others Reiki works on cause rather than the effect of dis-ease 1. Treats the dis-ease rather than the symptoms 2. Reiki accelerates healing which may cause initial discomfort. You heal at a faster rate. 3. How does this feel? *You feel very relaxed as the energy flows through your body. Some may even fall asleep. *You may experience Reiki energy as colors or pure love *You may feel peaceful or emotional as old patterns surface. What do I do during a treatment? What should I expect? 1. Take off your shoes, watch and metal jewelry. 2. You should relax and enjoy the treatment, however talking and asking questions is an individual matter 3. Allow your mental mind to release all the thoughts and fears so you can focus on the present experience 4. A Reiki practitioner only works on the chakras or areas of specific pain 5. You may experience a shift in consciousness. This is an important part of healing. After the treatment: 1.Your aura is swept front and back 2. Some may feel energized, some may feel incredible peace 3. It is suggested you drink 8 glasses of water a day for 3 days. This flushes toxins out of the body. 4. You may be advised to schedule another appointment to maintain wellness Source: Reiki, a torch in daylight By Reiki Master Karyn Mitchell, PhD
